Two compact looking smartphones are looking to arrive this summer for T-Mobile UK which may not be all about the supreme high-end devices out there. First up is the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pro that shrinks down the dimensions while retaining most of the looks of its bigger brother – the Xperia X10. The Android 1.6 device, which is looking to be upgraded to 2.1 some time in Q4, is expected to come in during the middle summer month of July. That’s according to its T-Mobile UK web page where future owners can sign up for email updates regarding the handset. If Android isn’t your kind of platform and prefer the business centric platform of the BlackBerry OS, then you may want to check out the BlackBerry Pearl 3G with its slim and updated new looks. This handset will be making its arrival a bit sooner with a launch expected to happen in June. Both devices will surely add to T-Mobile UK’s lineup for this summer, but there is no word yet surrounding pricing for either handsets.

Virgin Mobile UK may have been the first to officially announce that the HTC Wildfire will be in-bound for them, but T-Mobile UK bolts onto the scene to come out somewhat on top regarding the launch of the smartphone. Virgin Mobile UK customers will have to wait until some time during Q3, but T-Mobile UK customers will be treated to the handset much earlier on – it’ll be available for purchase starting on June 14th. Now its a bit interesting that T-Mobile UK mentions this date because HTC officially mentioned that the device was going to be available during the third quarter of this year – so it’s a bit baffling to say the least that T-Mobile UK will be getting it in Q2. Finally, no specific pricing has been disclosed just yet by T-Mobile UK. We’ll see if that launch date will stay steady in the course of the next few days, but it should be noted that their official Twitter account clearly mentions the June 14th date.

The growing list of top of the line Android handsets are inevitably growing by each passing day – we’ve already have seen how Motorola and HTC have been gearing up with their push. Sony Ericsson announced the XPERIA X10 early in November a few months ago and really gave people something to talk about. During that span, we’ve seen the Motorola DROID and HTC Nexus One take front stage and dominate the headlines. There’s been finally some movement with the XPERIA X10 as T-Mobile Germany announced that it will launch Sony Ericsson’s first Android smartphone in April. Its specs sheet is surely to amaze anyone considering it has one massive 4.0” WVGA scratch-resistant display, but the time between its announcement and official release may allow eyes to wander to some other alternative flagship devices out there. With roughly 3 months away before its release, we’re sure there are plenty of other handsets ready and waiting their turn to get the spotlight shined on them.

It looks like Huawei’s Android smartphone we told you about yesterday, the U8230, will be available as early as next quarter with T-Mobile, PCWorld informs. That’s good, having in mind the device looks promising with its stylish appearance, large 3.5-inch touch-sensitive screen, 3.2-megapixel camera and, of course, Android operating system.
It is interesting to note that a piece of info has been posted on T-Mobile UK’s official Twitter channel, saying the carrier’s next Android phone will be called the G1 Touch. Whether this would be the MyTouch 3G (Magic), expected with T-Mobile U.S., theHuawei U8230 or some other handset, we do not know.
