Motorola DEVOUR to launch earlier than expected, through the Indirect Channel

01Motorola DEVOUR to launch earlier than expected, through the Indirect ChannelThe Motorola DEVOUR, another Android-running handset by the company, got officially announced by Verizon Wireless last week, which was a move that we, of course, welcomed. Although the info given by the carrier stated the phone will come out sometime in March, we now got word from one of our brave tipsters, who claims that the Motorola DEVOUR will actually first launch through the carrier’s Indirect Channel, on February 25. All channel sales should begin no later than March 15.

This practically makes it the first non-prepaid phone to launch this way. Sounds good to us, and we are eagerly expecting this hot Android smartphone and its features, including 3.1-inch capacitive touchscreen and all the social centricity of the MOTOBLUR interface… Too bad it doesn’t come bundled with Megan Fox too.
Thanks, anonymous tipster!

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 also seen running Android 2.1

Tags: , , , , ,

Move over HTC HD Touch, you’re not the lone last generation Windows Mobile handset that can run Android 2.1. The new player this time around to come out of the woods flaunting the Android platform is none other than the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1. Sure we’re all waiting until Sony Ericsson releases their high profiled Xperia X10, but now there’s video showing proof that the Xperia X1 can accomplish the same thing we’ve seen on the HTC Touch HD. From the looks of it, navigating through the operating system can be a bit tedious – especially with the resistive touchscreen requiring a good push to recognize a press. It may not be super smooth flowing right now, but we’re sure after some tweaking, it should provide some level of usability. As you can see from the video, there are still some issues with it – such the inverted position of the display. So far this is the closest thing to Android on a Sony Ericsson smartphone available right now, but we’re sure that people are eagerly awaiting the launch of the Xperia X10 already.

Walmart now says it will not sell the Nexus One

06Walmart now says it will not sell the Nexus OneWe were a bit excited earlier when the Google Nexus One by HTC made an appearence on the Walmart LetsTalk wireless site as “Coming Soon” for Verizon, Sprint and AT&T. As of now, Google has only released the Nexus One for T-Mobile, yet have said Verizon and Vodafone would get it sometime this Spring. But it appears that the listing on Walmart was nothing more than a mistake, as their spokesman Ravi Jariwala now says “Due to a technical error, this item erroneously was displayed on our site. We’re working with our partner Let’s Talk to have it removed as quickly as possible. We have no plans to carry Nexus One in Walmart stores or online at Walmart.com at this timed.”  Thanks for bursting our bubble on this one!

T-Mobile says no returns on myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition

03T-Mobile says no returns on myTouch 3G Fender Limited EditionHearing a handset garnering the Limited Edition term probably makes you think about some highly prized handset that’s produced in limited quantities. We’ve already managed to check out the beautiful new finish on the T-Mobile myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition. On the other hand, T-Mobile has some interesting pieces of information if you recently purchased the handset. TmoNews was able to get a snapshot about the return/exchange policies on the music oriented handset – T-Mobile will not offer returns on the Fender Limited Edition. That means that you’ll be denied a return during the Buyer’s Remorse Period and will have to live with your purchase. We suppose it’s the price to pay for something deemed as a Limited Edition handset – but it’s still a bit rough; especially if it’s purchased as a gift for someone else. Luckily though, it still includes a 1 year manufacturer’s warranty so you can rest easy if you happen to find it completely dead one day.
