Sony Ericsson is gearing up for something big on November 3rd, and according to some sleuthing around on the event page’s HTML source, the name “Rachael” appears several times. This would match up with the much-anticipated XPERIA X3 (or X10?) that will signal the beginning of Sony Ericsson’s foray into the Android arena (ahem).
Do you see a Sony Ericsson Android-powered XPERIA in your future?
Courtesy of the leaking nature of online-retailer Expansys, pull up a chair and take a good look at the sexiness that is Sony Ericsson’s Android phone, the Xperia X3 (”Rachael”). Not only is it beauty on the outside, but it packs a wallop on the inside as well. The specs are revealed as follows:
Connectivity: miniUSB, 3.5mm AV connector, Bluetooth (2.1), Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11g)
Navigation: AGPS
If the Android OS wasn’t doing well already, this device would certainly propel it onward and upward and makes a serious argument for Android in the workplace. The Xperia X3 looks very business and executive to appeal to the working professionals out there, but should be hard to pass up for those tech-savvy consumers out there. Those of us in the U.S. are hoping for a 3G version here in the States, so let’s keep our fingers crossed!
We have already seen the XPERIA-branded Rachael – Sony Ericsson’s rumored Android smartphone. However, not everyone is keen on snowy white handsets, so it was about time some images of a black version also surfaced. So, go ahead and enjoy the Rachael in black! It looks a bit more stylish and appealing to us. We would like to remind you that the Rachael has gained popularity partly because of its rumored personalized Android interface. You can check a demo video here.
As we reported earlier, a demo video of what is said to be Sony Ericsson’s personalized user interface for Android, called Rachael, has surfaced. Basically, the UI introduces some nice visuals and smooth animation transitions that definitely add to the experience, but do they add to the functionality of the operating system? The manufacturer seems to have reworked it all – from the virtual QWERTY keyboard to the messaging screen. In fact, the Rachael interface has a comfy-looking screen that allows you to browse through almost all of your content in a snap, including music, photos, SMS messages, e-mails and calls, as well as correspondences through Facebook and Twitter. We give our thumbs up to Sony Ericsson’s new software and hope that the manufacturer will announce it soon. It looks like HTC will have to face some competition here, unlike in the world of WM interfaces.
Just the other day we reported to you about “Rachael”, a device that was aiming to become the first Android powered handset for Sony Ericsson. Wearing the Xperia brand, this handset was loaded with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz processor, an 8MP camera with AF, 3D graphic capabilities and 7.2Mbps HSDPA. Right alongside Rachael was Kiki, a unique looking unit that allowed the user to read the display from the front or the back of the device. Besides the new pix, we also can tell you that there is some video of the Sony Ericsson UI for the Android handset. Check it out at the source link. Seems like we can’t get enough pictures of this pair.
