It may be unlikely we’ll see this one in our shores any time soon; especially when you see the Philips branding on it. The second Android powered handset from electronics manufacturer Philips has been officially announced. The V808 will be making its way to China Mobile featuring a 3.2” HVGA touch screen, GPS, 3.2-megapixel camera, microSD support, 1000 mAh battery, and GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity. There are a couple of rendered photos that gives us a sneak peak of what to expect. From the looks of it, it has a flush front surface with rounded corners – it’s a tried and true design that you can’t go wrong with. So far there’s no word on pricing or availability – then again, there are plenty of Android handset to fetch out of the sea right now.

Thanks to Cloned in China, we have what appears to be the first leaked image of Philips’ first Android handset, the V808. Very little is known about the device, but it’s alleged to have a 3.2-inch HVGA display and 3.2 megapixel camera with video recording capability. Unfortunately, that’s about all we have so far as specs go, but at least there are a few pictures to get a better idea about this device. Should this device come to fruition, it has a minimalist design. Hopefully there are some surprises under the hood or some way the V808 will distinguish itself, otherwise it’s likely to be just another “me too” Android offering.
