Not only can you pre-order the myTouch 3G Android handset from T-Mobile on July 8, but you can plan on more coverage as a media event is held in New York City featuring the myTouch 3G front and center. For $199.99 and a two-year contract, you can get this sleek and slim Android-powered device with a 3.2-inch capacitive (finger-friendly) display, a 3.2-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 3G HSDPA network speeds.
Compared to the bulkiness of the G1, the thin myTouch 3G with it’s virtual keyboard is bound to win many hearts over. Drop by for more info on July 8 as there is certain to be more news as a result of this media event.

It may look like a bunch of gobbeldy-gook to the untrained eye, but some serious javascript investigative work over at androidandme.com has uncovered what seems to be the leaked launch date of the new myTouch 3G Android handset on T-Mobile. We already know that pre-orders are being accepted starting July 8th, and August 5th already coincides with a leaked T-Mobile roadmap.
Good job, androidandme. It’s nice to have what appears to be a solid date to plan on the myTouch 3G release. There will likely be more leakage between now and then that may shore up this prediction, so stay tuned for more myTouch news. If August 5th is truly the day, are you planning on picking up a myTouch then?

Do you like what you see with HTC’s Sense UI overlay on Android? If you want the Sense interface of the Hero but are sticking with the Android handset you already have, there is a glimmer of hope that you can have the Sense UI on your existing device. Peter Chou, the CEO of HTC, was recently quoted as saying, “HTC Sense will be available on some other existing devices.”
That’s a broad statement, but since the only Android phones available at this time are the Dream/G1 and Magic/myTouch 3G, it may be fair to say that one or both receive an update to get Sense up and running. Hopefully Dream/G1 and Magic/myTouch 3G owners can enjoy a UI facelift when Sense is made available to the older devices. Do you want Sense on your Android handset?

Finally, after a long series of rumors and speculations, T-Mobile USA have officially announced their second Android-powered handset. Initially, it was referred to as the HTC Magic, as well as the T-Mobile G2, but at the beginning of the month, a leaked box art revealed its final name – the myTouch 3G, which is now officially confirmed with the announcement.
As a whole, the myTouch 3G is identical to the HTC Magic, which is offered by Vodafone in Europe, in both design and specifications. Of course, this version of the handset is designed to work on T-Mobile’s 3G network. In terms of specs, the phone packs a 3.2-inch HVGA touch-sensitive screen, 3.2-megapixel camera (although its FCC profile mentioned a 5MP sensor), microSD slot, GPS, Wi-Fi and the must-have features of Android 1.5.
Current T-Mobile customers will be able to submit their pre-orders, starting July 8, at a price of $199.99 with a two-year service agreement. Afterwards, the T-Mobile myTouch 3G will be available in early August.

After reporting the myTouch 3G from T-Mobile had been spotted in the wild and predicting it’s launch was just around the corner, the WSJ reports that the myTouch is launching next week. The myTouch 3G, like it’s G1 predecessor, is made by HTC and is very much the same as the HTC Magic (carried by Vodafone in the UK).
Unlike the G1, no physical keyboard will be found on the myTouch 3G, giving it a thinner, sleeker look. Will you jump on T-Mobile’s new Android phone or wait for one of the other 18 or so handsets that have been announced over the last several months?

Usually when a device is spotted in the wild, it’s a safe bet that it’s launch is not too far behind. Hopefully that’s the case with the T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Android-based smartphone, the heir apparent to the G1. Alleged pictures of the MyTouch were posted by Crackbone over at Androidforums. They look legit – appearance is consistent with previous pictures and reports, carries the Google branding, and that screenshot is unmistakably Android. Will the MyTouch 3G replace your G1, or if you haven’t tried Android yet, will you answer the MyTouch’s siren song?

It was just a few days ago that we posted the box art for the next Android phone on T-Mobile, the myTouch 3G. We also now know that you can pick up a shiny new G1 from T-Mobile for a mere $149, a strong hint that they want to clear the shelves of any remaining G1 inventory to make space for the new myTouch 3G.
The G1 is a very powerful handset for only $149 and is a great opportunity to own an Android phone and still keep a few bucks in your wallet. Or, just wait for the myTouch 3G which is rumored to arrive later this month. If you don’t have a G1 already, are you going to help T-Mobile clear their shelves by picking up a G1 at a bargain price? Or are you going to jump in with both feet and incur the expense of the new myTouch 3G?

T-Mobile USA recently announced that it would be launching its next Android powered handset in early summer. While many had expected the handset to be named the HTC Magic, the HTC Sapphire or the G2, leaked pictures of the box art tell us that it looks like the name of the handset will be myTouch 3G. The device will be available in three colors, white, black and merlot. With the box all printed up and ready to go, it shouldn’t be too long before we see myTouch 3G at T-Mobile stores. After all, “early summer” is almost upon us.
