Not wasting any time after the official announcement of the Nexus One, there’s already work underway in creating a hacked ROM that’ll provide some much loved features. Arch-modder, cyanogen, has gone on the record and promising one of the first tweaked ROMS that’ll offer tethering and multi-touch web browsing. The tethering capability will allow you to do it on either Wi-Fi or wired connections while an additional feature called BusyBox will be thrown on to give other hackers more flexibility for playing with the Nexus One’s underlying code. We’d expect cyanogen is feverishly at pace right now getting this hacked ROM up and running – with a release coming shortly.
Motorola DROID owners may have a way to enjoy the virtues of multi-touch on their device if they are willing to roll up their sleeves and do a little ROM flashing.
