Even though it’s not available to the general public yet, the lucky folks over at Android Community got an early Christmas present from HTC: an unlocked Hero. They wasted no time posting a video of the unboxing, some hands-on time using the new Sense interface, and tons of photos, of course. They may not be going out on a limb when they say it may be the best Android device yet. Here is a reminder of the Hero’s specs:

- HSPA
- WiFi, GPS
- Android OS 1.5 “Cupcake”
- SENSE!

Due to licensing issues and a bunch of legal mumbo-jumbo, the fabulous and greatly-hoped-for HTC Sense UI will not… I repeat, NOT… be available for any Google-branded phones.
