The Samsung Galaxy Spica has been announced in Russia and is expected sometime in November. There is no word yet on U.S. or European availability, but we have the rundown on the specs for this Android handset:

It looks like the guys over at Phone Arena have just posted their exhaustive reviews of some of the hottest Android smartphones we have ever heard of, the Sense-powered HTC Hero and the not-that-sensitive Samsung Galaxy I7500. As a whole, HTC’s offering seems to be the real deal with an overall rating 9 out of 10. On the other hand, the Galaxy is rated 7.5 out of 10, which is also sure to attract a lot of users. The Android-powered Samsung Galaxy isn’t just dressed in black anymore. The Galaxy has been spotted in white and will be available on O2 Germany first and then to other European carriers. There is no mention of an exact release date nor any dates for availability in North America, but for those in Germany first and Europe later, having the option of a white Samsung Galaxy at least doubles your choices.

The commercial of the Samsung Galaxy comes to shatter the myth that smartphones are exclusively business oriented devices, used by irksome, tediously looking people in boring, gray suits. If you happen to be afflicted with the false belief, you better watch the video right away. We find it truly funny and perhaps it will touch the child in you.
For an instance, the Android-based Samsung Galaxy I7500 appears as a space ship, with the various functions it delivers depicted as different planets it lands on. You will be able to see the planets of navigation, games, finances etc. The video ends with “to be continued”, which probably means we are about to see a whole galaxy when the Android Market has expanded enough.
