Today we came across the device that was previously rumored to become the third Android phone in Verizon’s lineup. As the Motorola DEVOUR is now announced and scheduled for a March release though, this goal would be quite difficult to achieve. Well, at least we can tell you that the Saygus Vphone can still become the fourth Android for Verizon! It’s almost as exciting, really. This handset is not yet officially announced, so keep in mind its future is not yet very clear. If it does launch at some point, we are hearing this might happen in May. Important specs include a 3.5-inch WVGA screen, 800MHz processor, 512MB RAM and 5MP camera. Enjoy the pics!

Although the info given by the carrier stated the phone will come out sometime in March, we now got word from one of our brave tipsters, who claims that the Motorola DEVOUR will actually first launch through the carrier’s Indirect Channel, on February 25. All channel sales should begin no later than March 15.

This practically makes it the first non-prepaid phone to launch this way. Sounds good to us, and we are eagerly expecting this hot Android smartphone and its features, including 3.1-inch capacitive touchscreen and all the social centricity of the MOTOBLUR interface… Too bad it doesn’t come bundled with Megan Fox too.
Thanks, anonymous tipster!

When we last reported on the Motorola Calgary, we told you that the Schaumburg, Illinois based firm’s second branded Android device for Big Red would include MOTOBLUR and could possibly get launched in time for the holidays. For those waiting for the launch, it could be imminent now that some accessories for the device have been spotted on Verizon’s web site. The site shows a USB Data Cable for the A555 Calgary for $19.99.

The MOTOBLUR UI helps you keep track of your social networks by pushing information from them to your home page. The handset itself bears some resemblance to the DROID with a side sliding QWERTY keyboard. The latter does not have a D-pad so the letter tiles fill out the entire space. Three touch sensitive Android keys are at the bottom of the screen.and the camera will be a 3MP model. If there will be a late holiday shopping season push for the Calgary, we should expect to see an announcement soon that would include information on the specs that we don’t yet have.
Many Thanks to Jen!

Here is a quiz – name three manufacturers of Android phones. You are right, it is only HTC that offers phones running the greatest mobile OS, but it seems this is just about to change. We´ve just been tipped off by a reliable source that Samsung is to launch its first Android-powered smart phone on the European market as soon as this June! Recently, the S8000 Cubic (pictured) was rumored to be the first Sammy with Android, but we are not sure if it is the real deal. Still, we are as happy as can be to report that it´s going to be the first, but not the only one – furthermore, two additional models are to hit the shelves in European stores by the end of this year. We’ve no clue what the specs of these phones are, but considering the Samsung’s current line-up, we do expect to see a slim smart phone with 5 to 8-megapixel camera and we certainly keep our fingers crossed that it´ll feature an AMOLED display.

Unfortunately, there is no specific information regarding models for the American market. Still, earlier rumors had it that the Korean manufacturer was preparing a little something for both T-Mobile and Sprint. We hope we see it this year as well.

P.S. You heard it here first!
