The Android-powered Archos 5 media player is now listed on Amazon.com, but due to some kind of technical glitch with the listing, Amazon is unable to process and ship the order quite yet. However, you can register to be notified by email once the issue is resolved and the Archos can be shipped.

The Archos 5 is listed at $389.99 and features a 4.8-inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixel) touchscreen, support for Wi-Fi data connections, and support for tethering to a 3G phone via Bluetooth. It also is equipped with an 800MHz processor, 160GB internal storage, and allegedly a 10 hour video playback time before needing a recharge. Also included is GPS navigation support and an HDMI output. Pretty exciting stuff! Let’s hope that Amazon resolves any issues soon so the Archos 5 can be ordered and shipped!

If you are in Europe and can wait a couple weeks, the Hero will be available across the UK from T-Mobile and Orange for free with a two-year contract and monthly rates of £40.00 and £39.15, respectively.
