T-Mobile has made it official on their website, and “Project Dark” is now the real deal. T-Mobile is rumored to be ramping up advertising by 40% for the holidays. Their new offering includes unlimited plans beginning at $49.99 along with their nationwide 3G network. One of the big advantages that T-Mobile is also offering is no annual contract, just like successful European carriers. It’s nice to see T-Mobile give this a shot, because hopefully it will mean that other carriers follow suit and we can live in a contract-free, unlimited calling-plan market in the U.S. For all those that take advantage of “Project Dark”, let us know how it works for you!

As of now, T-Mobile is the only game in town for getting your Android groove on in the U.S. With that said, the folks in the following areas should be pretty darn happy about 3G expansion and should already be enjoying the benefits of faster data speeds on their G1 Android phones:
Colorado Springs and Pueblo, Colorado; Des Moines, Iowa; and unconfirmed is Salem, Oregon. More expansion has taken place in Denver, Colorado and the Austin and San Antonio, Texas areas as well. This could be the most exciting thing to happen in the Des Moines area this year (I kid, I kid!). Congratulations to those people in the aforementioned markets who now have 3G. Please tell us how it’s going for you!

T-Mobile G1 users and T-Mobile customers in general have a lot to look forward to in May, in the four cities listed in T-Mo’s latest 3G rollout schedule that has leaked. Faster data and better sound quality are in store for those getting 3G. The good news about the continuing 3G expansion means a better user experience for those G1 users out there, not to mention the new Android phones that are sure to follow.
Henderson, Nevada and Wichita Falls, Texas are due to experience their 3G bliss in mere hours. Those in Rockford and Springfield, Illinois should already have 3G. Are you suffering from 3G denial? If so, maybe your area is next!
