Just last Friday, the HTC EVO 3D was launched by Sprint and already it would seem that a GSM variant is being prepped to be launched on T-Mobile. The handset was spotted recently visiting the suits at the FCC wearing T-Mobile’s AWS bands. This, of course, does not guarantee that we will seen the 3D enabled device in the window of the nation’s fourth largest carrier, but it does bring up some interesting possibilities for those T-Mobile customers with a phone upgrade calling their name.
If a GSM EVO 3D does make it to T-Mobile, how will it do against its stablemate, the HTC Sensation 4G? Cannibalism, anyone? Or will the EVO 3D be seen at T-Mobile as a Sensation 4G wannabe with gimmicky 3D functionality? Will the LG G2x, currently not available online, be cleansed of all bugs and challenge a T-Mobile version of the EVO 3D by recapturing the excitement that its dual-core speed presented before its launch? While it’s great to think about all of this, the truth is that we still need to see T-Mobile actually come out and introduce the HTC EVO 3D before we get carried away.
