It may not be an iPhone-killer (yet), but Motorola DROID sales figures are impressive over the weekend since it’s release on Nov. 6th. According to Broadpoint AmTech Inc. analyst Mark McKechnie, Verizon Wireless had 200,000 DROIDs in stock and may have moved at least half that number just over the weekend. Mr. McKechnie predicts that Motorola will sell 1 million Android handsets in Q4 and another 10 million (!) in 2010. Wow.
Robust sales bodes well for Motorola, Verizon, and perhaps more importantly, the Android platform. More DROIDs out there in the hands of consumers means more Android handsets and apps to come. Did you buy a DROID over the weekend? How do you like it?
